observations

  • Been using your new ascend theme for my online store, following are a few of my observations, comments and improvements if possible:
    1. when a product is sold out, the item listed in category listing is stated as only “SOLD” but in the product page its stated as “SOLD OUT”. can it be standardised as “SOLD OUT”?
    2. Can the attributes be center aligned with variations?
    3. The theme options are “empty”. I cant make changes.
    4. Tried to upload logo for product category, but its not functioning.

    Been using yr virtue theme for my other sites, and its a great theme. Seems ascend will surplus will overtake virtue as yr flagship theme if the kinks are ironed out.

    Thanks for posting:

    1. We actually have a theme option for this so you can change how it looks in the archives right from the appearance > theme options.
    2. Yes, that would just be a css thing. I’ll update.
    3. Hmm. If you right click in your admin and click “inspect” there should be dev tools that popup in the browser. If you click on “console” do you see any errors?

    Have you tried deactivating other plugins?

    4. that isn’t a theme specific thing so I would guess there is some error in your admin. If you’ve tried deactivating plugins and your console is empty of errors let me know. Are you on a live server or local?

    Thanks for checking out Ascend. We’re so excited to have it finally be made available.

    1. You can change this text to whatever you like in Theme Options> Language Settings.

    2. Try adding this CSS to Theme Options> Custom CSS and let me know if it works for you:

    .product-summary-case .variations label {
    position: relative;
    bottom: 13px;
}

    3. What version of the theme are you currently on? Do you have the Kadence Toolkit installed?

    4. Can you post a link to the category so I can see how it’s configured?

    Hi thanks Kevin for getting back quickly!

    1. Got the theme options “appeared” again. Its one of the plugins, will advise which one for your future reference (maybe its not updated to current version yet) and other ascend users. Got it changed as advise in the theme options > language settings.
    2. the CSS worked perfectly.
    3. As advised in (1), there is conflict with one of the plugins. Its working now. Further to your second reply, i am using ascend v1.1.2 and the kadence toolkit is installed before this.
    4. I am on a live server and this is resolved. I think it conflicts with one of the plugins which is causing all these problems.

    p/s just a thought – incorporate the best of Ascend + virtue + pinnacle into one flagship theme, name it virtue since virtue an established & popular theme in wordpress!

    Hi thanks for the update.

    Tested each of the plugins, the most likely culprit seems to be – Tabs widget for page builder (proteusthemes), when i de-activate it the theme options page “appeared” back.

    However, now i am confused because when i de-activated other plugins as u advised earlier, the tabs widget was activated and the theme options “re-appeared”. The most possible answer is that it involves a few plugins or a combination which i cant pinpoint yet.

    It’s completely possible that there are more than one plugins conflicting and causing this. What are the other plugins?
