    Dear Wordfence Team,

I run a user-generated content site where people register on my site and post content. I see that WordPress logs the IP address of those that comment, but is there a way to find out the IP address of someone who creates a post?

I want to use Wordfence’s IP blocking feature, but just wondering if it is able to log the IP of a user that is creating posts (not just comments).

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello @bibblybob and thanks for reaching out to us!

Wordfence will be able to provide you security alerts such as log-ins and log-outs of those authors but not when they perform a post-action on your site unless it’s malicious.

I would recommend a plugin such as Akismet if you want to be able to prevent spam posts.

You still can add the IPs to your blocklist in Wordfence to prevent them from even getting to the site in the first place.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks again!
