Occasional Twitter problem

Most of the time posts are publishing to Twitter OK, but some are having issues which appear to be related to the length of the generated Tweet:

statuses/update_with_media : {“errors”:[{“code”:186,”message”:”Status is over 140 characters.”}]}

I can’t see a pattern to the problem. Another support thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/no-publish-on-twitter-errors-code186-in-log?replies=4) suggested as small code change which I have tried but the problem is still happening.
