• Hi,

Has there been any reports of Ocean Extra causing issues? It’s not been updated in 2 months according to my WP Admin. However, randomly today it’s broken the entire /wp-admin area.

I had to go to /wp-content/plugins and disable every plugin one by one to see which was causing Cloudflare 524 error and it turned out to be ocean-extra. After renaming this folder from ocean-extra to ocean-extra_disabled the wo-admin area loaded instant.

I then uninstalled and removed the plugin and tried to reinstall via WP Admin > Plugins > Add New Plugin searched ocean extra and “Installed” then clicking “Active” button sat loading then returned CloudFlare timeout error 524.

Is this plugin making a query or sending large data all of a sudden?

    https://developers.cloudflare.com/support/troubleshooting/cloudflare-errors/troubleshooting-cloudflare-5xx-errors#error-524-a-timeout-occurred

I have no errors logs in /wp-content and no root errors logged for my Hosting Provider (I’ve asked them)

I haven’t changed anything on the site in about 4 weeks just randomly broke today.

I managed to get it to create a debug.log file:

    Hello @davidblood,

    Thank you for reaching out,

I fully examined the issue you have raised on this topic and could not see it on my end.

Could you please tell us how we can replicate your steps to arrive at the issue on a fresh WordPress installation?

In the meantime, kindly provide us with your system environment information. To do this, please go to WP Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info Tab and click on the button Copy site info to clipboard. You can send the information as code here or upload them to https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and get an exclusive link: https://i.postimg.cc/fbjtkFyJ/image.png(you can remove your email address from the content).

    Best Regards

    Hey @skalanter,

    Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately I have absolutely zero idea how to replicate the steps or the issue as it honestly worked fine for 2 months since I did the update then just randomly went to go to my WP Admin panel to edit a page (change “Twitter” to “X” on a custom page) and noticed my wp-admin was slow and having issues.

After speaking to my hosting provider for 3 days and still no luck or find any kind of error log at their root level I just went on the route of renaming 1 plugin folder at a time until I got to ocean-extra and renamed to ocean-extra_renamed and all of a sudden my wp-admin was normal again.

It’s still disabled and breaking some site features. Did try re-enabling just now but again slowed wp-admin down and Cloudflare error.

Site Health information (this expires in 1 week): https://pastebin.com/b1mvN1GS

    Thanks.
    David.

    Hello @davidblood,

    Thank you for reaching out,

We have made extensive efforts to replicate the issue on our end, but we have not been successful, and no similar reports have been received.

If possible, please uninstall the plugin and reinstall it. Completely delete Ocean Extra and install a fresh copy by downloading it from the WordPress repository (wp.org/plugins/ocean-extra).

Before proceeding, ensure that you have a full backup of your website. Then, try optimizing the database by installing the WP-Optimize plugin and following the optimization process: https://wp.org/plugins/wp-optimize/

Please let me know if you have any questions about the above steps.
And please keep us posted on the result.

    Thank you,
    I hope it helps.
    Best Regards
