Ocean WP Distorts Page

  • The Ocean WP Theme makes the pages not mobile-friendly. If I open the blog on my page, it looks ok. But if Google checks (I check via search console), the header is distorted. The same thing happens with other users who read my blog.

    The errors are:
    Text too small to read
    Clickable elements too close together
    Content wider than screen

    I disabled all plug-ins and the error is the same. When I changed the theme to Twenty Twenty, Google returned positive results–that the page is mobile friendly.

  • Hello,

    The URL you provided is not functional. However, based on the warnings you are getting, I will assume you are using custom links in the footer or sidebar.
    In that case, go to Appearance > Customize, switch to mobile preview, go to Typography > Widgets, increase the Line Height, and set 14px for font-size.

    Content wider than the screen is usually related to some overflow, but without having access to the page and knowing on which page you are getting these warnings, it’s really hard for us to point you in the right direction.

    On a side note, this issue is not related to Ocean Extra and Ocean Extra does not distort pages. The reason you were not getting the same warnings with a different page is that all widgets that come with Ocean Extra will function only with the OceanWP theme.

    Thank you. In the mobile preview, it looks ok. But in Google Search Console, it looks distorted. How do I show you a screen shot?

    Here is an example URL that Google says is not mobile friendly. But it loads okay on my phone, and my family’s phones.

    Lastly, when I changed the theme to Twenty Twenty, the error disappeared.
