    Hi Oceanwp Team,

I am using Oceanwp-Lingerie theme for my website and considerable work been done. I feel necessary now to have a child theme to remain safe. But I have a few doubts,

    1. Do you have a separate child theme for Oceanwp-Lingerie version or the one that is available on your website as “Sample Child Theme” will serve the purpose.
    2. Do I need to make any changes in “Sample Child Theme” as it is called a Sample. Or is it as good as a real child them and I can go ahead with it.
    3. How can I transfer all the changes I made in child theme back to parent theme after the parent theme is updated with a newer version. Or is it done automatically.

    Thank you,

    Hi there,
I am a simple user. I also needed to install OceanWP Child’s Theme when I already had started to build my website and I installed it successfully following these instructions (you will need to export your database settings to your computer and then install Child’s Theme and then import back your database settings. You won’t need to make any changes to Child’s Theme, I don’t know why it is called ‘Sample’):

    Hello,

No separate child theme for the Lingerie template. Because the Lingerie template is also designed using the OceanWP theme.
You can simply change the name if you want, or you can use it as it is(It’s up to you).

By following the doc, you can download the official child theme and export/import the parent theme settings according to mentioned steps in the doc.

No need to make any changes after upgrading the parent theme, that is the reason we use the child theme.

Thank you Abhishek. Also please also clarify if I ever need a child theme if I decide not to touch Parent theme’s files like funcion.php etc and do my customizations just in woocommerce CSS and Elementor or in snippet plugin.
