Odd codes appended to blog entries

  • I put my blog on the back burner for a few months and now that I have some time to work on it I am ready to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.5. However I’ve found that all my old entries seem to contain a code at the end such as this: <!--88e8e8116e5fb4f031bb67bb0d67d94f--> and that all my <br /> tags have been removed.

    What are these additions and is there something I can/should do to remove them before upgrading to 2.5?

    I’ve upgraded to 2.5 but am still wondering about this problem. Are these codes spam? Were they possibly added by a plugin? I’m having a hard time finding any related support topics.
