Hey there – been using this theme for about a year – absolutely love it! I recently moved to WordPress.com and did a fresh theme install there. For some reason, the slider at the top now shows some odd spacing – there is a large empty gray area when the page first loads. I contacted WordPress support and they tried to help with the issue but the could not figure it out – any ideas?

You can recreate the issue on my end consistently by opening an Incognito tab and looking at the homepage in either Chrome on a desktop, or Chrome on a mobile device. Screenshots of the issue I am experiencing can be seen below.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks very much!

Hi there! Happy to hear you like the theme ??

Sorry for a late reply. I can’t see the google drive images anymore. Did you find a solution to this issue?

Hey there – no worries, thanks for reaching out! I just restored both images and I’ll hop into Customize > Theme Options > Blog and turn those featured posts up from zero so you can see them on the live site. Thanks so much for taking a peek!

(Note: I did try to use the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plug-in to see if it would fix this, regenerated everything, but no dice.)

I see the issue there – hmmm. One of the image links that doesn’t show anything is this for example:

    https://i0.wp.com/theminimalistfisherman.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/9a28f-illinois-bass-fishing-from-the-bank.jpg?resize=520%2C292&ssl=1

    ?resize=520%2C292&ssl=1

Makes me wonder what wordpress.com does with image sizes. It doesn’t seem to crop the image like a normal wp.org theme would. Did wp.com support mention anything about it?

And when scrolling the carousel, it changes image that doesn’t work, and the other one starts working. Really weird issue here.

Can you try to turn off Jetpack Lazy Image feature? That’s the only thing I can think of that could cause it.

SO fun fact – when I contacted WP Support they looked into it, then they just said “yeah we’re not sure what is going on there”. Previously this was hosed with GoDaddy but their hosting was absolutely terrible – I moved to www.ads-software.com and everything came over pretty well except for this section – which is of course an awesome feature of the theme.

Yes you are correct that the images update and kind of “fix” themselves too – weird! Sometimes when I resize the browser window size it fixes itself, or I believe in some cases I have switched to landscape then back to standard view on a phone – same thing.

I turned off the Jetpack lazy images – any idea on how we should test from here?

    Thanks!

Oh snap – that may have done it! Can you please test / confirm on your end?
