• After backing up my site and reinstall a fresh version of WordPress, I have an odd issue with my media library. The only images that show up in my media library are a bunch of random .png files and a handful of photos from early 2014. Everything else does not appear in the library. I know the images are in the right folders because I can see them there. Very frustrating.

  • How exactly did you do the reinstallation?

I deleted and reinstalled through my host.

You can attempt to try Inspect Element on your browser and check the Console.

If the images would have issues loading, the error would appear and it would show the correct URL to the image.

This would show, on what issues appeared for the images.

I.e. you did a new installation and then also deleted the entire database? Then WordPress does not know anything about images because there is no record for them. It does not matter if the files for this are in wp-content/uploads/ – they are ignored.

So what do you actually have in mind?
