odd problem with posts not showing in preview…

i installed wordpress into it’s own directory then moved the index.php and the .htaccess files outside into the root directory and updated all the info in my settings panel..

now, whenever i have a draft of a post and i want to preview it… the preview page opens and where the post content should be it says “file not found”. everything else on the page renders fine. now, the kicker is, if i publish the post.. the post will show up where it should on the page instead of the “file not found”. if i make the post back into a draft… the “file not found” shows up again instead of the post content.

what do i need to do to fix this? or rather, where should i start? i’d prefer to be able to preview a post without publishing it.
