• Hay all.

Quick question I have noticed that my blogs have a cool admin type edit bar at the top of them where i can quickly add posts etc it also lets me jump to my other sites which is cool

this bar is visible on all my blogs apart from the main blog. can this be turned on? is it part of the theme or can I have it on for admins or authors but not readers?

The admin bar should only show for logged in users (check in another browser to be sure).

As for it not showing in the main blog, that too should be standard for all logged in users. Does the theme the main blog is using have a call to wp_head() in the header.php file?

yeah its in the header file, I actually had to move it as it was in the wrong place, before the body, however I now see the space where the bar would be but still not bar.

Okay, make sure you have a call to wp_footer() in your theme’s footer too.

If that doesn’t help, then it’s probably your theme’s CSS. Check out this link for more info: https://voodoopress.com/2011/02/wordpress-3-1-admin-bar-upgrade-issues/

orks on all my other themes that are on my other blogs just not this one .

Then it’s your theme. Is the footer call in the right place?

Can you test with a different theme to verify?

I know you said it, I was asking a second time as an ‘are you sure’. ??

You’re going to have to experiment. Either your theme’s CSS or functions are doin’ it. Or a plugin that’s only on the main site.
