Odd question about archives. Do we need them?

  • If I wanted to take out archives can I or will it effect the blog in any way? Im trying to make my blog / website with just categories.

  • I have a site in which I’ve removed the archives links from the navigation with no bad side effects, if that’s what you’re asking. I find that just navigating by categories is sufficient in that regard. I think it just depends on what kind of site you’re running and how visitors prefer to navigate your site.
