Odd Referrers

  • I’m using CG-Referer to list recent referrers to my site. I’m getting a whole lot more than I bargained for, though. Clicking on the “Top Referrers” shows anything from apartment locators to software resellers to travel agencies to porn sites referring to me.
    1) Where are these coming from ? I’ve clicked on some of the links and they don’t refer to me at all.
    2) Is there some way to block these sites from appearing in my recent referrers, either though CG-Referer or another method?

    The instructions aren’t really clear on the blacklist. Some of the porn sites are already listed in the referer_blacklist.php file. Running that file just returns a blank screen but doesn’t remove the referrers from the Top Referrer list.
    Am I missing something?

    The blacklist keeps them from being added to the database. Once they are in, you have to go into the database – search on the url and delete them. At least that is how I do it in phpmyadmin. It is possible Dave has a delete function somewhere, but I have not run across it.
