Offering paid services

  • Hi,
    Are we allowed to pimp our own services on these boards? I keep seeing people asking for help creating various navigational systems but have been hesitant to recommend they contact me for paid support.

    I offer a premium support option for my WordPress dropdown menu plugin including custom designing slider menus, flyouts etc. etc.

    Is this acceptable here on the www.ads-software.com forum?

    I don’t have time to help everyone for free unfortunately. Particularly when it comes to designing customised navigation systems.

    No.

    You couldn’t figure that out by the fact that everyone else isnt doing that? Especially those of us that have more than 6 months/18 posts. Youre a bright bulb, I can tell.

    And sarcasm isn’t necessary. Just because I haven’t posted around here very often doesn’t mean I’m not intending to in the future. I spend large amounts of time offering free support on various other boards and was intending to start helping out here too, but I might go help elsewhere instead then if this is the response I get for politely asking a question.

    More volunteers are always welcome here.

    Thick skin in any volunteer capacity is a good idea as well.

    And finally, judging a community based on one response is not wise ??

    Oops, I hadn’t read your post close enough. You weren’t looking to volunteer.

    So yeah, don’t pimp the paid stuff off-site please.

    Actually I’d already volunteered and have been helping people for the last 12 hours or so.

    I just noticed that a lot of people were asking questions which could be served by my paid service – hence the question. I figured the answer would be no, but thought I’d ask just in case it was okay in situations in which it could actually help the poster.

    Anyhows, if I was running this forum I wouldn’t let people pimp their own stuff either, so I don’t have any issues with the policy.

    Join the WP Pro mailing list if you want to be contacted for paid work.

    And this thread devolved into pointlessness. Cleaning it up and closing.
