Thanks for your thoughts about Wordfence. Without any context to what happened I’m unable to give you any real insight here. You might have been locked out because you mistyped your password and your brute force settings are too restrictive. It could have been an issue where your server is behind a proxy or cloud firewall and Wordfence was seeing the IP of the proxy or cloud service and not the actual visitor IP and it was locking you out because of that. It could have been a number of things. These settings are all user configured. The default settings are purposely set liberally so this doesn’t happen.
Regardless, a support ticket or forum post would have got you the support you needed to solve that for you.
