Hi, first I must tell that this is the best SEO plugin in WordPress repository and I am using for a couple of months now!!! Currently, I have an issue with og image position when I share my posts on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., post image is cropped from the centre. How to automatically show post image cropped from the top on social sites?

It seems it’s about og image resize. All sites, not just Facebook crop image from the center, leaving people on images headless. Another example mix.com https://mix.com/imgtrend
    How to fix this manually?

    Hi @celebtemple,

Facebook recommends 2 sizes for Open Graph with ratio 1:1 (600×600) and 1.91:1 (1200×628). The main issue is that depends on “where” the article appears, FB might choose appropriate size, which means we hardly control that perfectly. (Like viewing an article on desktop will have 1.91:1 size, while on mobile, it’s 1:1).

    Here is FB’s docs:

    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices/#h-nh–nh

In Slim SEO, we recommends the size 1200×628. And when sharing, FB will auto crop from the center.

If you want to manually fix this, there are 2 methods:

    1. Prepare your image so that when it’s cropped from the center, it still looks good.
    2. Try to set an image with square (1:1) size, like 600×600. It will eliminate the cropping issue, but not sure if sharing it on other places on FB.
