Unfortunately, we were unable to take a look at the provided page due to the Cloudflare firewall.

That said please refer to our this knowledge base guide which shows exactly how to go about troubleshoot the issue you’re experiencing.

    Hello,

    Do you mind trying again.

I tried the instructions that you sent and it is still showing the image I do not want it to.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

Your homepage only specifies one image for the Facebook image which is

    https://www.216marketing.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/cleveland-digital-marketing.png

You said you specified an image in the SEO Social settings. Was this under the Frontpage settings or Default settings heading?

The image set under default settings is only used when there are no images related to a post or page.

If you do not see the Frontpage settings, you have setup WordPress to use a static frontpage and you must add the preferred image to the static page directly under the Social tab.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

I click SEO (the plugin settings) then social and under the default settings I have this uploaded and saved this image, https://www.216marketing.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/216-digital-agency-cleveland-oh-seo-sm.jpg. This is the default settings.

I did check the header.php file and there is no OG tags there at all?

Just odd, I did get your point that this image is used if there is no image used.

Not a huge deal, just curious.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks so much!

The image you have specified from the Yoast SEO Social settings will be used to posts or pages when you have no image set for Facebook. So, you’ll need to specify the image from post or page level. Please, refer to our this knowledge base guide How to edit Open Graph tags on your post/page? section which shows exactly how to go about doing this.

Hello. That is not the case. I understand I need to use the image in page and post, but when I share, for example, it is pulling the OLD image and not the image I input the social settings. Nothing I do will override the OLD image an now pull the new image that I put in the backend. There is a glitch somewhere. The plug is not working properly. Thoughts?

If you have set up the post or page specific image for Facebook and Facebook is still using the old image, please flush the cache for that particular URL using the Facebook debugger tool.

Nope. Sorry, cleared the cache the first day this was happening, on the server and in Cloudflare. Thanks though.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Go to SEO > Titles & Metas > Homepage
    2. Click on the link to edit the front page itself
    3. Go to the Yoast Metabox
    4. Click on the social button under the traffic light
    5. Click on the ‘Upload Image’ button
    6. Find and select the image you want to use for the homepage.
    7. Click ‘Use Image’
    8. Click ‘Update’ to save the page.
    9. Clear any site or server level cache.
    10. Clear Facebook cache using the Facebook debugger tool.

If you have set the image here already and the homepage does not show the correct og:image tag, your theme or another plugin is most likely overriding the Yoast settings. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Seventeen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme.

If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we wrote a small guide that will walk you through the steps. You can find it here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts
