• So I just purchased, downloaded, and installed the plugin. Everything went smoothly for this.

Having a weird issue though. I did notice the requirement to disable the jetpack publicize/sharing which I went into jetpack and did.

On the admin, I add a song to the playlist, and it is requiring an ogg link? Wouldn’t it make sense for it to require mp3 OR ogg and not both? I simply added the mp3 link again to the ogg link input, however this is a silly way to work around this as it probably should require on or the other, not both.

The other thing is, I consistently get the message that I need to disable the Jetpack Publicize and Sharing plugins, however they are disabled already.

  • You will have to convert mp3s to ogg files for the plugin.

Yup, @littledove22 is correct, you need to use both mp3 and ogg in order for the player to work properly across all browsers and devices. You can read a bit more about this in the FAQs.

Re the Jetpack issue…if you don’t mind, please can you try temporarily deactivating Jetpack plugin totally (not just those modules) and let me know if that removes the ‘disable jetpack’ message? (This will confirm that it’s an error with my ‘if’ statements which is what I suspect)

    Thanks for your help ??

I disabled jetpack and the msg has disappeared, so I would guess what you think about if is correct.

Curious though why the .ogg requirement? Every html5 player I’ve seen handles mp3 files just fine (mobile devices etc). Is this a relic of the original plugin/program it was based off of?

Thanks for reporting back malone76. I will take a look at the ‘disable jetpack’ message for next release (if I haven’t solved the conflict with jetpack by then).

The ogg requirement was in the original player I based this plugin on… but it is actually necessary in order to be fully compatible with all browsers and devices – there are a still a few out there that require the ogg
