og:image property is ad(s) NOT post’s featured image

    When sharing a post to Facebook via my theme’s (Magazine lite) social buttons on blog post, the featured image is the ad I uploaded, not the featured image.

    Why is facebook preview pulling ad image now and not featured image and what is the best way to rectify this?

    Because Facebook is a bit dumb like that ??
    They often ignore opengraph stuff and just scan the content for the first or last image and use that.

    Haha. Thanks Arnan. Suppose you are right about Facebook. I downloaded Yost SEO plugin and assigned the featured image manually for my posts going forward. Fixed the issue.

    If you want a more lightweight OG plugin look for OpenGraph – I use that myself, seems to work really well. 100% config free, too.
