so i get this error…no matter what link i click on in my wordpress blog:

    “Not Found
The requested URL /wp-admin/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

this is how it happened. i did what this guy told me to do from a forum.

i’ll make it super short…here’s what i was trying to do.

    i have this website https://www.paintlessbusiness.com.

i set up wordpress, mysql database for it..the whole works. got the blog name of Paintless Business and set it all up. life was great about 3 hours ago.

and then i realized what my client wanted…he wanted wordpress incorporated into his already existing website of https://www.paintlessbusiness.com.

so rather than editing all the php files to get wordpress in there…this guy told me to just redirect my url links in my options panel.

so i went to options…changed my url paths to

    paintlessbusiness/wordpress
    paintlessbusiness

    originally it was
    paintlessbusiness/wordpress
    paintlessbusiness/wordpress

i wanted people to go to https://www.paintlessbusiness.com and have the wordpress blog in there but that WASN’T the CASE! or isn’t the case!

now if you go to https://www.paintlessbusiness.com/wordpress/ it looks like someone took off it’s clothes. all it is, is just html and there’s no template. if i click on anything it gives me that 404 error.

it’s all messed up…can someone help me with this?

purtty please with sugar on top?

    thanks-
    drew

  • You can’t just change the path to your wp files. There is a way to do this, but not this way. Take a look in the codex. There is a topic that exactly writes what you have to do to make this happen.

All the files are searching in the path you gave in. When the files are not there, the blog will not work!

I would sugest that you install WordPress again in the folder where you have it now. Dont make any changes befor its running normal. If you need support after its running normal, I think you better do that here than somewhere else.

well i otta beat that guy up for telling me to do that then. dangit…i should’ve never listened to him.

i’m going to delete everything and start all over from scratch. but can i do this without deleting my blog name?

what do you mean by “blog name”?
if you’re talking about the blog title, you can put that in when you run the new installation…
