• Well I just tried to login to my wordpress admin but it wouldn’t let me in. I know *I*haven’t changed the username/password. So I tried ‘forgot password’ and it said ‘no such user exists’ even though I know my login.
anyway, is there anyway to reset the username and password so I can get into wordpress and not lose all my coding, themes – reinstallation.
Please help, I really want to get it back :'(
I think someone hacked it just out of spite. Is there any way to find the IP of last login to wp or anything because no-one’s accessed my ftp.
Is there anyway I can make wordpress 1.2 more secure without upgrading to a higher/newer version?

    sorry, I don’t have that ??

What is what you “don’t have”? Could you be more explicit?

I haven’t got that installed in my cpanel. And I can’t install it because I never understand installation instructions- they’re really long.
do you have any other suggestions?

I think you just didn’t find it. In any decent cPanel there should be a link to phpMyadmin. Take a second look!

where is it usually on a cpanel?

cPanel is not “that” big – it’s one page, but the display depends on theme, version etc.
Somewhere, where the database related things are.

    Here’s a screenshot of my cpanel: https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a364/hamibluez/cpanel.jpg

can you see it on there? Is it possible it’s on a subpage? I’ve got cpanel X (10)

    Click mysql databases
scroll to the bottom of that page
It’s in the middle, blue type

I’ve tried logging in with ‘admin’,’Admin’,’administrator’,’Administrator’ followed by my pass. but I still cant login. same message as before ??
btw here’s the link to my login https://dragonrust.org/wp/wp-admin
use the pass on the screenie etc.

    The user is always admin.

    bump

I have a problem that may call for a similar approach.

I was updating the URL in the admin options from the stop-gap URL to the domain based one. And I screwed up.

I was putting in a .org domain and I must have accidentally left in the .com because now when I go the the URL for the admin, it jumps to org.com. So, I can’t access the admin at all, and I need to know how to edit that URL setting some other way to get my blog back!

I don’t know exactly what to look for, and I’m not familiar with phpmyadmin and worried about making things worse, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

    resolved! (phew!)
I looked at the tamba2 site referenced above, but I went into wp_options instead of _users, found the .org.com and (while holding my breath) made it .org. And it’s all back. Thanks
