oh my god – my wordpress… gone?

Well I just tried to login to my wordpress admin but it wouldn’t let me in. I know *I*haven’t changed the username/password. So I tried ‘forgot password’ and it said ‘no such user exists’ even though I know my login.
anyway, is there anyway to reset the username and password so I can get into wordpress and not lose all my coding, themes – reinstallation.
Please help, I really want to get it back :'(
I think someone hacked it just out of spite. Is there any way to find the IP of last login to wp or anything because no-one’s accessed my ftp.
Is there anyway I can make wordpress 1.2 more secure without upgrading to a higher/newer version?
