Ok. This is a weird problem. (Installation problems)

  • Hi there, I was recommended to come to this forum as I heard that the community is rather helpful here.

    Alright, on to the problem. I have registered a domain from Namecheap.com and bought hosting from hostgator.sg 3 days ago. Have pointed the name servers to the right place, as seen from https://www.whois.com/whois/teamboardgame.com

    Tried the quick installation from Hostgator for wordpress. “Successfully installed” message is shown with my admin id and password. Here comes the problem, I couldn’t access this wp-admin page, as shown from https://teamboardgame.com/wp-admin.

    Gotta admit I am relatively new and hope to get some help in some form or another. Appreciate it in advance.

    PS. Upon doing a DNS check, it mentions that my server is not giving me a reverse address, as seen from https://dnscheck.pingdom.com/?domain=teamboardgame.com. Not sure if this could indicate anything.

  • This is most likely not a WP issue, but rather an issue with hostgator.

    It looks like either their automated installer failed or there is a misconfiguration with the domain. Either way get in touch with them.

    As a side note – I recommend doing a manual WP install instead of using an automated installer, if you’re able to. While automated installers usually work out fine, there are times when they’re configured to do things that are nice for the host but not really within best-practices for WP.

    You will have to contact your web host as there is a problem. It could be the server is not properly configured to respond to your domain name or some other issue.

    I am assuming that this is your main account domain and not an add-on domain.
