Old chestnut: contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"

    Contact form version 3.5.4
    Running on amazon cloud wordpress install (using their template).

    I get contact-form-7 404 “Not Found”. I am using right shortcode. I have deactivated all other plugins. I have uninstalled/reinstalled contact form 7 and still get the error.

    Is there a way of debugging this?
    Maybe some of the permissions are not set correctly by the amazon wordpress installation (used Cloudformation).

    Any help/suggestions appreciated.

    Just an update – reinstalled wordpress (3.7.1) with no plugins activated except contact form 7 – twentythirteen theme – still have same problem – shortcodes work ie (dont see [caption])

    THerefore I reasonably conclude this is a plugin problem in wordpress 3.7.1

    Give that I am using this plugin on multiple 3.7.1 sites without the slightest problem, I would suggest that it is not a plugin/3.7.1 issue. Are you still using Amazon cloud?

    Yes – still using cloud – thanks for giving me a little more info. I have similar problem with the less good Fast Secure Contact Form shortcode and prefer contact form 7.
    However, Clean and Simple Contact Form shortcode works – but the form is too simple for my needs.

    I wonder is there anyway to debug the problem – apologies if this seems like an ignorant question.

    Any chance you could try an install on another (non-cloud) server? I suspect that Amazon cloud is actually the issue here.

    Reasonable suggestion. I will accept that it is most likely something to do with my setup on amazon.
