• Hello everyone, My site uses an old version of Evolve, 3.6.7 which is based on Redux Framework. I tried to create the child theme following the procedure indicated by www.ads-software.com, but various errors are generated on the site: the site title disappears, the menu characters become transparent, the social buttons become gray and many other problems. How can I update this theme? Is there a proven procedure that works without causing damage? I saw that the new versions no longer use the Redux Framework, but are based on the Kirki plugin. Currently the site is fully updated except the Evolve theme. Thank you in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi. I would suggest to set up a testing environment, deactivate the older theme and upload the new one and then activate it. We have a mechanism, that should pull most of the settings from the old theme and implement them in the new one. But it will not be 100% – some manual work will need to be done, you’ve waited far too long with the update.

In the end I solved everything by completely changing the wordpress theme. I found a theme that already has the child theme and the parent theme, which install together simultaneously. The result is good. 30% increase in traffic. All changes made in the additional CSS. Thanks anyway

If this was the solution, then you could have simply install our new theme from scratch. All themes have additional CSS and all themes can be installed with a child theme. Anyway, I’m sorry you decided to switch, but happy everything worked out either way.

But does your theme come with the child theme already included? What I can suggest for any wordpress theme is to always provide it to users with the child theme ready and tested. What do you think about it?

Our paid version does. Our free version doesn’t, but it is hardly a problem. A child theme in my opinion isn’t that big of an advantage. It can be easily generated with free and easy to use plugins.
