• I use post to page rather than blog.

How do you remove the old posts from your database?
I recently had a problem with my database being overloaded and had to get the Host provider involved.

How do I permanently remove old posts from database?

Also, how can I make the exceprt align next to the phot instead at the bottom of photo in the widget?

    Thanks in advance.

You mean you use the shortcode to put the feed items on the page, rather than use the Feed to Post, which turns the feed items into blog posts? If the former, the feed items aren’t stored in any database. If the latter, then go to manage posts where you can identify items NOT to delete and on the feed to post settings page you can specify how long posts show be in your database, then delete automatically.

    Ok thanks.

No items in post but saved as drafts.
I had lots of draft posts stored as I initially thought i would use post to blog before changing my mind to do so.
I have since deleted all draft posts and cancelled all posts to blog because of the problem encountered.

How can I make the text to align next (right side) to the thumb? Its currently showing at the bottom of the thumb (this is in using the widget)

if they are in saved, it’s because the feed to post is set to put all new items in the save mode…change that to published mode.

It sounds like now you are using the widget (the theme widget) and in that case the posts are not saved into a database…that acts just like the shortcode. At this point, I’m not sure what you are using (Feed to Post or Shortcode).

If you want to use just the widget, all you do is just put in the feeds (in the feed panel of the admin), then set up the theme widget and you’re done.

As for the image, that would be handled by adding a selector to the templates/template.css file. If you don’t know how to do this, post the page where this is a problem on your site and I’ll see if I can post here the CSS change you have to make.

    Here is the page: https://www.whattowearpost.com/cannes-film-festival-fashion-trends

It will appear at the end of all posts under the heading: BUZZING NEWS AROUND THE WORLD.

The page is: fashion news + features.

By posting my page here, I hope it won’t bring unnecessary traffic.

    Hi Allen,

Did you manage to go through my last post (above) about aligning the text next to the photo?
I posted my page in last post for you to see what I meant.
Any idea how this can be done pls?

    ***************************

Again, you responded in the other post that using the shortcode and the widget will not save images on my server?

Pls confirm this as I’m having issues with my database and the host is saying this is due to news being pulled from other sources to the site.

Thanks in advance for your help.

yes, with the shortcode and widget no images are stored on your computer (the person on the other thread doesn’t know what he’s talking about – there is an image stored ONLY if you choose featured image and using the Feed to Post).

As for you other question, I don’t see any problem…what I see is a title, then under that a photo to the left with the text starting at the top of the photo, as it should be.
