Was working on the custom.functions PHP file.

Got the syntax error, scraped the file onto my notepad so that I could take out the hooks/code and rebuild, one function at a time.

Wiped the slate clean, up to the point where it said “put in your custom code after this line.”

    Hit Save.

    Got this:
    https://www.shooterschoiceguns.com/wp…is_file_editor
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ‘,’ or ‘;’ in /home/carajones/shooterschoiceguns.com/wp-content/themes/thesis_182/custom/custom_functions.php on line 20

I cannot access any of Thesis functions or editors now. I cannot access my website.

I appreciate any help you can give. I’m feeling kind of sick over this.
    Thanks

  • Well, you must have accidentally deleted an extra bit of punctuation or something

Best bet is to put a clean version of the file back on your site from a fresh download of the theme

Since you don’t have access to your site, this is done via ftp (filezilla is good and free) or a file manager if your host offers one (many do)

    Hi Voodoo

first, thank you for your response!

I have a free HTML editor and the filezilla FTP client.

I found the original php file. Apparently if you mess up with the php coding in Thesis, it can disable the site. so I do understand that I have to restore that file to the original somehow.

Can you try to walk me through as to how to re-upload the original file to the right place within my FTP client?

    thank you again

I was able to uninstall and re-install the Thesis theme.

    Everything was restored. Thanks again

Yup, that’ll work too! I wasn’t sure how much customizing you had done! Glad you got it sorted out

Hi, I have the same kind of issue

When I try to go to my blog https://showyoumindblog.com/wp-admin this comes up:
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/trisha14/public_html/wp-content/themes/brunelleschi/functions.php on line 168”

I accidentally changed something in the CSS.. but now I can’t even log into my dashboard or ANYTHING! Please help… How do I get back into dashboard?

    Thanks,
