On load animation

Looking at this example…
Can someone please explain to me how they got the onload animation to work so that the images started off small and then grew to their proper size? I could not find this option in the plugin or shortcodes.
Also, I see that there is a special menu for the various gallery pages… How is this menu controlled and inserted into the theme template?
All insights are appreciated.
