    I opened my dashboard today to play around with a new theme, and most items on the left for customization are missing. There isn’t appearance, settings, users, plugins, ect. No where to add customization. I am at a loss on how to fix it.

    It sounds like your account may have lost admin privileges for some reason.

    If you are not using Multisite, access your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in your hosting account’s control panel), go to the wp_users table and find the row for your user_login. Note the ID of this row. Now, go to the wp_usermeta table and find the wp_capabilities row for your user_id. Set the value of this row to:

    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}

    Thank you @macmanx . I went in as instructed and it did not seem to change anything.

    Are you sure that you’re logged in as the user you made the change to in the database?

    To be clear, we have no more access to sites than any normal visitor (nor would we want more than that), so I’m unable to confirm this myself.

    @macmanx . I think that is the issue. www.ads-software.com isn’t recognizing me with the admin login and saying I don’t exist…it’s only letting me login as the user

    Excellent!

    And, to clarify, https://www.ads-software.com itself is not connected with your site in any meaningful way, they are two entirely separate things. ??
