One date for each post.

  • I’m trying to make the following modification to a template I have. I wish for the index page to show posts like this.

    Date 3rd Jan
    Post1
    Post2
    Post2

    Date 2rd Jan
    Post1
    Post2
    Post2

    Date 1rd Jan
    Post1
    Post2
    Post2

    Is that possible? Can anyone advise what areas I should be looking to change?

  • First, do you understand The Loop? That would help.

    You can set up date headers for each day using the_date() template tag. It only displays once for each day. Look at the information on the ‘format’ parameter if you need to modify the format of the date displayed.

    As for the rest, it’s just a matter of working the layout of a post the way you want it within The Loop in a template. I’ll assume the second “Post2” under each day was meant to be “Post3″…
