• I’m using the plugin to create a gallery of social media profile links but I need to do this repeatedly for multiple users (it’s a set of pages about team members). So, I want to be able to have the icons (facebook, twitter, etc) as images in my media library, and then each time I create a new gallery for a new user’s profile, I want to be able to insert his/her unique social media profile links. Is there a way I can do that? Right now, it seems like once I assign a URL to an image, that’s saved in the library, and travels with the image to each gallery where I use it.

    Thanks for your help.

  • The link is saved as a meta field with the image, so it can only store one link per image. I’m not sure there would be a way to save multiple links per image; to my knowledge, WordPress doesn’t create a unique gallery ID or anything when a gallery is created to be able to distinguish which link goes where. But it may be added in the future if I can figure out a way to do so. In the meantime, it’s one link per image, sorry.

What if you made each user’s links custom fields, then edited the page template you’re using to display the user’s info by putting each user’s links around fixed images in the template instead?

Alternately you could upload a new copy of the images for each user, although that’s not ideal. Just some suggestions.

Thanks! Even though it’s not ideal, I think uploading new copies of the images for each user may be the way to go for now.

It would be cool to have multiple links under the image. For example, Jet Pack Carousel places a link for “view full size” under the image. Wouldn’t it be nice to also have links like “buy a print,” “more like this,” “download product,” etc. Each with a customizable icon?

WordPress allows for html in image captions – you may want to explore adding multiple links through that, or possibly a shopping cart plugin if you’re looking to show a gallery of products. This plugin only deals with the link around the image, not any text that goes under it.
