    Hello,

I have to change some things for this season on a web site I manage.
    The new organization is :
    – One league (same as before)
    – 12 teams (same as before)
    BUT
    – 2 groups, with 6 teams in each group

The teams play against the other teams of the group + plays against teams of the other group at the end of the season.

How could I do this on Sportspress ?
    I’m a but confused …

    Thanks for your help,
    Antoine

    Hi Antoine!

    Thanks for reaching out!

    It’s possible to create a competition then 2 sub-competitions.

    So it’ll be:
    Competition
    – Group A
    – Group B

As long as the teams aren’t in the wrong sub-competition (under the team page) even if you add them to events of that competition they won’t be in the league table. Therefore, this is going to work for matches with teams of two different groups.

    Thanks!

It seems to work, thanks !

One question, though: on the homepage I display a table of the results, but it doesn’t show any of them now.

    1 have one league and 2 sub-leagues (group A and group B)
When I edit the widget in the sidebar (event list) I can only select the main league but not the groups. And in the case on the main league, it doesn’t display the results.

Any idea on what I could do ?

    Thanks,
    Antoine

    Hi Antoine!

    What widgets/shortcodes are you using?

It’s likely that you’ll need to create a calendar for your events, then you can display the competition matches

    Thanks!

OK I’ve created a calendar with the correct main league and the current season.
I see them in the calendar info (screenshot : https://www.dropbox.com/s/0vcrjh7r83xvcvq/sportspress.png?dl=0 )

For the widgets in the sidebar it seems OK now >> https://hockeybelgium.lesoir.be

But for the shortcodes I still have an issue.
I used to insert the events_block shortcode to add the info on the results page, using the main league, but no results are displayed (screenshot : https://www.dropbox.com/s/yvvjbgm8g35ckls/sportspress2.png?dl=0 )

    [event_blocks id=”10638″ title=”” event=”” team=”0″ league=”1952″ season=”2779″ venue=”0″ status=”publish” format=”default” date=”0″ date_from=”default” date_to=”default” date_past=”” date_future=”” date_relative=”0″ day=”” number=”6″ orderby=”default” order=”DESC” show_all_events_link=”0″ align=”none”]

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

It’s likely that you’ll need to add different shortcodes for each of the subleagues. As the main league itself has no events (or does it?).

    Thanks!

    Thank you Roch,

    But I still can’t do what I want ??

I’ve created a calendar which is GROUPE A (selected the Groupe A sub-leagueue and correct season)

When I add that (as blocks or list), the content is empty even though I select that calendar ……

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply!

That’s odd, could you send us some screenshots? From your calendar, widget and maybe even the event setup.

    Thanks!

Maybe I can send you an admin access to the web site ?
Where could I send you that ?

    Thanks

    Hello Roch,

I have another request that is linked to this : the hockey federation here had this great idea to have two sub-leagues, as discussed up here

    BUT ALSO

The teams play some of their matches against teams from the other sub-league, and the points have to be taken in account in the total rankings :/
    Would this be possible !?

This means for example that team “A” from sub-league 1 can play a match against team “B” from sub-league 2. And if team A win, it gets its 3 points in the Sub-league 1 ranking. If it’s a draw, they each get a point in their own sub-league ranking …

    Not sure if that’s clear?
    Thanks for your precious help!

    Hello Roch,

    Any idea on this?
Thanks for your help … the federation here has some stupid ideas this season :/

    Hi @aolbrechts,

Did you try to do what you want with SportsPress? You can create as many events you want with Teams from whatever League. The only issue you may have is with win/draw points. In an Event you can assign multiple Leagues, so it may also work.

Please try and give us some feedback to help you more.

    Thanks,

Yes I can create the events but the points have to be added in the sub-league rankings and I don’t know if this is possible ??

    (@savvasha)

So you created the events and the points are not added to the sub-league rankings?
