One of a Kind Items, only 1 in stock at all times

I’m trying to setup my first shop and I’ve been reading articles all morning but none of them align with the current version I have installed. I make one of a kind necklaces, there is only ever one, but I allow them to choose a “variation” of cord colour and length.
I was using Etsy before and with that they could choose the length option and the colour option before checking out. With Woo I cannot find any possible solution to make the variations as options, but only 1 quantity (regardless of the variations).
Can you tell me in basic terms, how to make a product with options such as colour and length but only stock of 1 regardless of what they choose.

You can do this using variations.
In my example, I’ve set up two attributes: length and metal:
Link to image: https://cld.wthms.co/yM5HMVFrom there, you can generate all variations from the attributes – but then as you’ve seen, each variation will track its own stock. You can handle this differently by using the “any option” – in this case, I’ve set both attributes to any:
Link to image: https://cld.wthms.co/vpUjdkYou could also say that you want to offer different necklaces of different metals, but allow the customer to choose the lenght. In that case, you’d set a variation for each metal, but leave the length on any.
However, with this set-up, you can’t manage stock as WooCommerce doesn’t know how many of each combination you may have.
