One of the best basic themes…
-
I’ve worked with a lot of themes, both free and premium, over the last 10+ years. Publishable mag rates very high – one of the best I’ve used. It’s easy to customize via the standard theme customizing interface. There are a few features missing though, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. There’s no Google Fonts feature, no sticky navigation, no options for different widths. I might be able to make that list longer, but then some features are traditionally unavailable in free themes. However, if you are familiar with CSS and maybe a little HTML and PHP, you can make up for most of those shortcomings.
I have enjoyed working with this theme and support has been helpful. There have been no conflicts with any of the plugins I use and no theme problem has caused any down time – and the few minor problems I’ve had were of my own making. I look forward to using this theme for a very long time to come.
By the way, of all the themes I’ve used, none have rated more than 4 stars. If this theme had Google Fonts, or a sticky nav, or a selectable maximum width, I’m pretty sure I would have given it my first 5-star rating. It’s that good.
