One Post won’t allow comments

  • Hi All,

    I have one post that won’t accept comments. When I try to comment it shoots me to the home page. This post does have commenting allowed and the last comment made on the page was July 18th.

    I have tried commenting on posts that are older and they have allowed me to with no trouble.

    I also have posts that have more comments on them than I can comment on.

  • certainly you can provide more info than that, right? How bout a link to the post in question? How bout an idea of the content of the comment?

    Sorry can’t do that because the information is password protected. The page has an image, a podpress plugin, and text, which is also on the other posts that I can comment on.

    There is only text within the comment text.

    what version of wp?

    I had comments problem in 2.0.3 that was due to a post being in more than one category.

    I have just upgraded to version 2.0.4. I have the post in several categories, but the posts that I can comment on are also in several categories.

    Interesting. I’ve got a similar problem. I can post comments on a page, but I can’t post comments on a post.

    Yes, when editing the post I made sure allow comments was marked.

    Clicking the post title or comments link takes one to another page https://impim.com/index.php?page_id=24

    Is this what is happening to you?

    Your problem seems to be that the permalinks are incorrect for your site or your .htaccess is broken or something like that.

    Note how this works:
    https://impim.com/index.php?p=21

    But the link on your page is this:
    https://impim.com/?p=21

    And the latter forwards you to the page_id thing.

    Check your .htaccess, check your permalink settings.

    Hey, updating permalinks did the trick. In my case I also had to switch PhotoPress to use permalinks. All’s well, thanks Otto42!
