one problem with read more

Read more does not work as expected. The auto insert works, but no read more if you add a more link in the editor. Also if you have code or a link below the first paragraph, it gets bunched up in the excerpt on the main page and no read more link is provided if I insert <more> before the link or short code ??

Five stars when that is fixed. I can fix it but I shouldn’t have to fix it. Write a short article with a short paragraph, insert two un-formatted urls below the paragraph and you will see the problem. Now insert <more> below that short first paragraph, it still no work.
