  • Been having this issue myself. Previous child sites that were working stopped. Created a new test site and it is accessible.

If it’s subdomains, check that your wildcards are still working.

    no it’s not a subdomain

Check that there’s nothing obviously wrong with the faulty site’s config by going to Network Admin > Sites, editing the site, and comparing those parameters important for accessing the site (domain, path) with a known good site.

If you’re using subfolders, make sure you didn’t make a PAGE with the same name on your main site.

Turns out there was a conflict between the CNAME Bing verification records and the wildcard record used for the multisite subdomain setup. Once the CNAMEs were removed my “Server not found” sites came back up fine.

    ** IMPORTANT NOTE **
Use header or file verification for search engine sitemap submission, NOT CNAME.

FWIW, plugins like WordPress SEO can slip the bing verification in your header for you ?? Multisite friendly too.

the solution: wp-supercache plugin has caused the problem…
    thanks
