I have one sub site that is running slow and takes over a minute to load. It times out all the sites like pagespeed insights or pingdom.
    This is the site:
    https://www.evantage360.com/jleech

I don’t want to delete all my plugins since there are over 100 other users so cloned the site & deleted all my unused plugins, ran wp-sweep to clean the database & setup the site on cloudfare. Oh and I ran smushit pro on the sites images.
That seemed so speed things up:
    https://www.evantageaz.com/jleech

Went back & did the same on my orig site but no luck, still slow page loads and doing anything in admin takes a few minutes to load. Updated WordPress & the network and optimized the database.

How can I determine what is slowing my page or what its looking for that it is not finding? Don’t see any anything in the server error logs.

The server is godaddy dedicated and the load is very low.

Its just the one site out of over 100 that won’t load?
Any ideas before I go hire someone ??

    thanks!

The issue appears to be your server: https://www.webpagetest.org/result/151120_GJ_DTZ/

The above test ran 61 seconds, without receiving a single byte of data, before giving up.

I recommend contacting your hosting provider about this.

Well the server is at godaddy and when ever I ask them a question the problem is never solved. I have servers at 2 other hosts and when ever I have something like this they may not fix it for me but they always can tell me exactly what causes the issue. But will give it a try ??

But if it was the server I would think all sites would time out and not just one site when there are over 100 others that come up with that test?

I also ran the P3 plugin profiler and most sites take a few seconds to load but on the site in question it is showing that one facebook plugin “ultimate facebook” that I already uninstalled is taking 536 sec to load LOL.

I have a few other sites on that dedicated server and they seem to be slower than usual so you must be correct about the server ??

    Thanks!

Ok the server is fine, they said there was a temp issue. Its usually running with about 15% of of ram used 10% or less max of the cpu.

Had a few people look at this still cannot find a solution and I think if it was a server issue then this duplicate of the slow site would also be slow https://www.evantageaz.com/jleech.

Since it works fine here: https://www.evantageaz.com/jleech
but slow on the orig site here: https://www.evantage360.com/jleech

Should I try coping all the tables for that site in the DB from the fast loading site back to the original site and then update the urls with search & replace.

Think that would make a difference or no way to know until you try?

Have tried all the obvious things with plugins & themes.

Thanks for any suggestions or where to go to hire a freelancer.

    thanks!

Is the duplicate site on the same server? How did you duplicate the site?

    Thread Starter virtualgeorge

    (@virtualgeorge)

Yes it is on the same dedicated server. I didn’t use a plugin I copied everything over manually and updated the urls in the database. That Site was slow at first exactly the same as my original site but after I deleted a few plugins and ran WP sweep it started working faster and I don’t know why.

Have you tried running wp-sweep on the current slow site?

    Thread Starter virtualgeorge

    (@virtualgeorge)

Yes, of course since it modifies the database I wanted to run it on a backup of site first in case there were any issues. But then made the same modifications & updates to my orig site after first testing on the backup site. Must have done something different though or in a different order since one is slow and one is not?

Hm, how about the plugins you removed from the duplicate site? Did you remove those from the slow site too?

    Thread Starter virtualgeorge

    (@virtualgeorge)

    Yes I did.

Oye, that’s a tough one. A duplicate site which is indeed duplicate, yet is way slower that the other.

Let’s rule out the core files.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

Since it was working on the duplicated site I just copied all those tables for that site to my original sites database and deleted the current tables. Something was bad or corrupt as it all works fine now.
    That was a tough one:)

    thanks!
