I have a site that will have products that appear in 4 different divisions. Sort of like 4 mini sites in one. I want to avoid having 4 WordPress sites just to display content for each division. But they have to be separated because some use European terms, measurements and European and American literature.

I know I could tag each product with tags such as division1, division 2, etc. Then I could display a different navigation and footer based on the products displayed.

Show a different search bar that would have a specific hidden post type and tag such as (name=”product_tag” value=”division1″). Is this the way to go about it? The goal is to get the visitor to select a division from the home page and then only see that content and products.

    Hi there,

That sounds like a good plan already (maybe add https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/jonradio-multiple-themes/ to the setup). Can you think of any drawbacks to this? If yes, we can try and come up with alternate suggestions.

    Kind regards,

I think I will try your suggestion. And if it doesn’t work then try mine. I just see having 4 separate sites would be overkill. And if the menu and search can change based on tags then they won’t find products on any other part of the site.
