  • Any special content on that page that might be triggering an odd behavior from a plugin?

Try the usual, disable plugins, change to a WordPress default theme, reset permalinks and see if any of those fix it.

Tried all of those, still the same – it’s very strange.

I really can’t think of something that would cause that to happen for just one page.

To try to narrow it down you might try the following:

    1. Delete the content on the page and see if it still happens.

    2. Replace the content, but change the permalink.

    3. Delete the page and recreate and see if it still happens.

It’s hard to diagnose a problem from here since we can’t even see the page to know what code it might have. But try those ideas and hopefully that will help determine if it’s page content or something unique about the permalink.

I’ve tried deleting the content of the page (just title and permalink left) but it doesn’t sort it. I also tried deleting the page and recreating it with the same permalink but the same redirection happens.

I’ve also checked the .htaccess rules and tried resetting them with basic setting but to no avail.

Also scanned my site for any malware (all clean).

If I change the permalink of the page it fixes it, and to be honest I may just do that, but I’m genuinely curious as to why that permalink appears to be possessed…bizarre.

I’ve got the same with one post. I have noticed, that switching permalink settings in default mode resolves the problem, so I am keeping research in this direction. Additionally I am using WordPress SEO by Yost and WP Fastest Cache – both are managing .htaccess, so maybe there is a problem.

Hi Barlew, unfortunately switching to default permalinks doesn’t work for me. I’m also using WordPress SEO by Yoast, but have tried disabling it and resetting the .htaccess file (no luck).

If you manage to figure it out it’d be great if you could let me know.

Many thanks, both of you ??

If you can access DB with phpmyadmin or similar, you can check the table “wp_slug_history” and check if there is some insert like “/” for the post id that have problems.
