One store connected to multiple PayPal accounts

    Hi!

    We have a unique problem case and I’m wondering whether we can tackle it using the plugi.

    We’d like to connect our store to multiple PayPal accounts. Let’s say they’re called PayPal EU, PayPal US, and PayPal RoW. When the customer billing country is selected:

    • If it is a EU country, only PayPal EU connection should be enabled and they payment should go to this account
    • If it is US, only PayPal US should be enabled and payment should go to this account
    • If it is none of the above, only PayPal RoW enabled and payment should go to this account.

    Is it possible to accomplish with this plugin? If not, do you have any other suggestion?

    Hi @ucarmetin

    The PayPal Payments plugin can only be connected to one PayPal live account at a time. So there is no functionality directly in the plugin that would help you achieve such a scenario. If you want to use different credentials per country, this could potentially be achieved via the WordPress Multisite feature as this would allow you you to set up PayPal Payments individually with different merchant accounts for each site in the network. But this is probably not going into the desired direction.
    Alternatively, I can only see hacky workarounds by swapping out the database settings which is not something we would recommend tinkering with in any case.

    But there are (paid) third-party PayPal plugins that may have the capability to connect multiple different merchant accounts on the same site. I’m not sure if such solutions would work with the PayPal Payments plugin though. We haven’t performed any tests in this regard in any case.
