• Hi all,

    Newbie problem probably.
Due to tight budgets, non profit/Corona etc, we’re trying to do things as much as possible with “free” stuff.
End up using forms from 3 sources.
    Events Made Easy (EME)
    Ultimate Member (UM)
    Caldera Forms (CF)
Find ourselves having eg an event created via EME with a CF and would now want to have one single submit button to submit the EME and CF forms.
    Suggestions anyone?

    Thanks,

    Jan

You’re not making it easy for yourself.
UM has fantastic forms out of the box, why use Caldera as well?

The short answer is no, you cannot submit three forms on the same page with a single button.

I think it would be better if you replied back with what you are trying to accommplish, bc UM and / or Events Made Easy should both be able to stand alone to have users register for an event.

    Hi Corrina,

The events management features of Events Made Easy fit closely to what we want.
In essence we’re trying to set-up a web site that will allow us to:
1- Have some static content about our training offering (not a problem)
2- Have a kind of “CV” solution for capturing information about our trainers and trainees (using UM for this)
3- Have an event management module so we take registrations and have recurring events, by invitation events etc. We use events made easy for this (EME). EME is pretty light on forms and want to use Caldera for “pretty” forms but end up with 2 submit buttons
4- Capture suggestions for training offering and other topics for which we would use Caldera.
Of the 3 Caldera offers the most flexible forms solution.
Again… doing all without ending up with buying licenses (for now).

    Thanks for your interest,

    Jan

    Hi @janboen

Are the events virtual? live stream, or pre-recorded videos ?

Unless you are going to use any APIs that are available, I would discourage you from this approach as your data based on the trainers, the registrants, and the WordPress users is going to be scattered and will eventually be difficult to manage and maintain.

If I come in and register for an event, what is the business process after that ?
How do you contact the registrants, and is the event a one-shot-deal, or is it a series of events ?

    Hi Corrina,

    Events all that you mention.
We want to use the EME process flows as much as possible.
The process will be different depending on the type of event.
Some events are open to all, some by invitation, some by expression of interest and screening by our team you name it.
UM and EME seem to share the same basic user information any way.
The extra’s we capture is then related to travel details, dietary requirements etc.

UM mainly for (more or less static) profile information related to the members/users of the platform.

    Ta,

Okay. As mentioned, to answer the original question is No re: the submit button.

imo it doesn’t feel like you are using the right tool for your requirements.
I would look at solution that is more contained, as your requirements are extremely typical.
Modern Events Calendar or LiftLMS seems like a more streamlined approach.

Yes, UM and EME both use the users table to retrieve the data – altho ancillary data is stored elsewhere. It would still be a goal to reduce the dependencies in your overall structure.
