• on my local server, with multisites. i want to setup ONE theme with main blog and with main/subblog.
    multi sites are on sub directory structure.
    when i change any thing in code form main blog, it also appear in subblog. how can i prevent it to not affect on sub blogs..?

  • Themes are shared by sites (ex-blogs).
    To have different behaviours for your theme for one site or other, you will have to write administration page for your theme so that parameters can be set for each site.
    It may be rather tedious, so if you have few sites, it may be easier to duplicate themes, also considers using childs themes inheritance to modify only what is needed from a theme to another.

    actually i want Same theme for all of my network, but with difference among main site and child sites.

    i found the simple solution for this…

    simply i copy same theme in 2 folders with different names.
    Folder1 for main site
    Folder2 for all child sites.

    i made changes in main site theme files and the changes are not showing under child sites..

    what you think about it?

    I think it’s quite a good solution for your needs. Using child theme may simplify theme upgrade though.
