One User Account Suddenly Won’t Switch

    Have a curious development and I hope you can help. We have been using the plugin successfully for years but recently one account seems to have an issue. When you click “switch to user” it just defaults to the log in screen and there is a link that says “switch back to (admin account).” above the log in. If you click the switch back link, you get a message that says the link has expired, try again.

    The customer was complaining about not being able to purchase anything so we’re trying to narrow down if this is the switch plugin or something has just corrupted his account. No major changes outside of a theme update have been performed in the last several months.

    Try switching to one of the default themes such as Twenty Twenty, try deactivating your other plugins one by one, try removing mu-plugins if you have any, try disabling the object cache if you have one. It’s most likely one of those.

    Hi,
    This isn’t working for me either — when you click on “Switch To” it takes me to the WordPress login screen and after entering login details takes me back to the dashboard.
    Why all the sudden this stopped working with new version?
    We haven’t applied any changes to the website since this worked!
    Quick solution will be highly appreciated.

    Did you check the items I mentioned above?

    This is LIVE website we can’t be messing around with it.
    I have tried to reinstall the plugin, which didn’t make any difference.
