Only 25 Pets?

Hi,

I don’t know why only 25 pets would show up. The count should default to 75, but can you try setting that in the shortcode? If that doesn’t do anything, you can give me your shelter’s petfinder id (just the petfinder ID, not your API key) and I can test it.

Hi, Bridget — thanks for the response. I’ve now changed my shortcode to include the count of 75 (had been 200) but still getting same results. Our shelter ID is MI320.

I verified this is caused by what Petfinder is returning. The following URL will give you the XML returned by Petfinder and there is only 25 being returned, even though the count is set to 200. Replace [put your key here] with your own Petfinder API key.

You’ll see I also played around with the offset value in the url, but it doesn’t page through results. Luna and Jasmine are always first. This is a link to Petfinder’s API docs. Got to shelter.getPets to see the parameters you can send: https://www.petfinder.com/developers/api-docs#methods

So, this appears to be something messed up in Petfinder. (Petfinder tends to mess up its API from time to time.) Hopefully they will sort it out. I’ll send them an email and see what they say.

Just letting you know I heard back from Petfinder. This is their reply:

“This is a bug that is soon to be repaired. It should return results as you expect. We hope to fully test and release the fix in a few days. “

Hopefully it will be fixed soon and all your pets will be back on your website.
