Only display highest score certificate

  • Hi,

    Loving this toolkit for LearnDash, it has been really useful. I only have 1 issue at the moment. We only want to show the users certificate with the highest score as we allow for unlimited retakes and this could end up being a very long list!

    Currently I see a certificate for every attempt except they all have the same score despite them all having a different score.

    For example, 3 attempts, attempt 1 = 70%, attempt 2 = 80%, attempt 3= 100%. I see 3 certificate links all with the last attempt score.

    Please can we just show 1 certificate per course with their latest score?

    Hi Ben,

    This can certainly be done with custom development, but it’s definitely not something we would put in the base plugin. There are too many sites that this would cause problems for, including sites that have students reattempt quizzes on a periodic basis (e.g. annual recertification), reuse of certificates across multiple courses/quizzes, etc. For your situation customizations are certainly an option, but we won’t change the Toolkit itself to accommodate this behaviour as it could negatively affect a lot of other users.

    It appears you added the functionality to:

    show all earned certificates, including those with the same name.

    How can I prevent this? If I simply want to show certificates with the same name once?

    We have a certificate for each course and do not need re-takes so can you explain how to reverse what you have done in the latest update please? Or add this as an option to the plugin?

    This behaviour was changed to be consistent with LearnDash ld_profile behaviour and because it was causing issues on sites where there were very good reasons for having certificate duplicates (as outlined above). We’re not expecting to restore the old functionality as an option as we see it as confusing, and current behaviour is much safer and consistent with what’s native to LearnDash.

    Thank you for this plugin!

    I am having the same issue. Learners often re-take the quiz to achieve the passing criteria but then are confused by multiples in the certificate list.

    I tried option 2, restoring the old certificate file form the repository. The link opens the May 18 version. This version did not make the change, but the April 13, 2016 version did. The updates are well-labeled so it was easy to figure this out.
