IP block is not a premium feature. Manual blocking is premium only, not automatic.

But then you should never be using manual blocking anyway. If you’re used to doing that with other security plugins, then you’ve picked up bad habits and it’s not our responsibility to enable these poor practices.

This “review” is pure malice. So much work goes into this plugin and so many great features are available for free, including automatic IP blocking for bad bots.

    Horrible and very disappointing.

Automatic block do nothing in free version… I could see a lot of terrible IP reputation never blocked, why ? It’s for that wich its cool to block manually, at least we can do with our hands what Shield can’t do.

For anyone else reading this exchange, please understand that the statement “Automatic block do nothing in free version” simply isn’t true. Automatic IP blocking has been a core part of Shield for years and forms the foundation of most of the plugin

As we said earlier, this isn’t much more than a malicious attempt to denegrate a perfectly good plugin. We invite the reader to explore the many other overwhelmingly positive reviews, try out the plugin if you haven’t already, and make up your own mind.

There is nothing malicious here, ive use Shield for months and my opinion is based on experience only

For premium users, Shield its surely one of the best plugins.
For free users, im sorry but no, you’re not great (for the moment, perhaps u allow some others things in future ? for exemple, protect some url’s ? -> block ip’s wich access some specifics url)

    You said :

    “I loved Shield”
    “ive use Shield for months”

which tells us you’ve gotten value out of it and you liked it.

You get value from something for months. Something that is free. You didn’t pay anything for it. And there’s a feature that you somehow think you deserve to have but don’t get, and so you leave a 1-star review.

    So, yes, that is malicious.

If it makes you feel a bit better you’re not alone, many other folk believe they’re entitled to have things for free.

Customers opinions are important, we must say to people wich Shield is very limited in free version, but surely great in premium. I didn’t even say nowhere wich Shield is shit, so i dont understand your attitude, when even you must know how your free version is not great near others free alternatives. Don’t worry this isn’t a big deal avec you have surely a lot of premium customers (this is your goal no ? so, life is great)
