Only front page works, problem with archive folder

I have recently installed wordpress but am having some issues. At the moment the only (public) page that works is the front page (index). The admin side of it works fine but pages like ‘about’, RSS and if you click on any of the categories at the side (and the recently written) come up with “page not found”.

Taking a closer look on the server, there does not seem to be any ‘archive’ folder there, which I think is the problem. Is there any way of rectifying this?
