• I can’t find a way to update my menu and not have one of the following happen:

    A) menu disappears
    B) items disappear
    C) menu settings disabled

I have messaged back and forth with support and in the end they basically gave up after I made a bunch of adjustments. I spoke with a developer and apparently this is a problem with the plugin on other sites as well. Now that I spent hours and hours setting up my menu and de-bugging to no avail I don’t know what to do.

If you have a smaller menu, it is a slick plugin with lots of cool options.

    Hi ilana,

I’ve explained in your support thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/items-still-disappearing?replies=8) the menu item limit is caused by WordPress, not by Max Mega Menu. Here is the official Trac ticket: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/14134

You will have the same problem with large menus whether or not you have Max Mega Menu installed. Google “wordpress menu item limit” and you will see it is a well documented issue.

It seems unfair to give a low rating due to an issue that is out of my control, especially given that I’ve tried to help you fix it.

Why don’t you at least mark somewhere that this is an issue so that people don’t spend hours building their menu only to find it has limitations and won’t work for them?
How could I have possibly anticipated this?

If it’s a known issue, I think it’s your responsibility to let people know.

If I noodle around with it enough and re-do the menu enough times I can usually get it to work.

    Hi ilana,

WordPress itself doesn’t notify users of this issue before it hits them, even though it was first reported 5 years ago.

    It’s documented in the FAQ:

    Regards,
    Tom

Thank you for sharing that link! I can’t believe the WordPress team hasn’t mentioned this somewhere, anywhere. It would have saved my client DAYS of grief and it should be more widely known.
